I sat through a meeting yesterday. I am not good at meetings and I do not like them. But it was an important meeting and I haven't been able to attend the previous ones in the series so I went.
It made me frustrated. I probably spoke too much in front of people I do not know. This makes me more frustrated.
This makes me curious! What was the meeting about and what did you say??
ReplyDeleteIt was regarding programming in response to that incident of racism a while back. A group has been working for a few weeks, but I haven't been able to attend any meetings because of my teaching schedule. Until yesterday. So partially it was just that odd feeling of being new to a group that already has its ways figured out. But I also felt my impressions were different from theirs, and it was weird. I got so surprised that I just contradicted people a couple of times. Blurting it out like a kid!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is You go girl! It is a subject close to your heart and if you contradicted people it was probably the right thing to do.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fia... I think there were some aspects of politicking I was oblivious to, and that;s what gave me the creepy feeling.
