Of course I'm using irony here... but it does seem many Americans honestly believe that they invented freedom. Or that the American version of freedom is a little bit more freedom-y than the freedom of others. And my partner honestly believes they invented oatmeal!
They did? :-) Invented freedom is a good desription I think and freedom can be used as an excuse for doing many things in the name of that freedom.
