May 17, 1999, I received notice that
I had won the right to apply for a
Green Card through the
Diversity Visa Lottery.
Big day for me.
The lottery was my only way
of obtaining a green card.
The current immigration bill would
terminate the program.
Someone asked what was the
first thing I did when I had learned
I had won.
I bought perennials, and planted
them.
