To respond:
I was at Whole Foods today and they apologized for making me wait, because the store policy is not to start ringing up the next customer's items until they're done packing the previous customer's bags. No one should be made to feel they're rushed out of there, they explained. So yeah.

I actually like that policy! The very short, abrupt, plump comment was from a girl i "kassan på Ica" and it made me smimle thinking how "americanized" I have - slightly reluctantly - become.
What? No "have a nice day"? No packing of my reusable cloth bags? I have to do it myself? No smiles? What is the world coming to?
Are you heading to Svedala at all this summer?
I like it too. We all felt very civilized, checkout guy, bagger girl, other shopper, and me. I don;t know what has happened to the Swedes, or when it happened. It makes you sad when you think of it that people won;t enjoy each other's company. Because that's what it's all about, I think.
No, no Svedala for me this year. Maybe Christmas.
